The Montessori Method

Montessori, more then a method is a Education for Life. That is how Maria Montessori (1870-1952) called it. She developed the method using her scientific observations throughout her life. The material she developed is about being in contact with the childs and to observe their needs and development.

With a prepared environment and a trained adult, she could observe childs becoming concentrated and disciplined.

Maria concluded that a child need the following things:

  • Orden
  • The possibility to repeat as much as they want
  • The freedom to choose the activities they want to do
The Montessori method is still in use after all the years, because it is capable of responding to the development of the brain of the child. Today different neurological research has shown the validity of the method. It is a way of life where the child is important since its birth.

This just a very quick summary of what the method is about. If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to contact me. I offer workshops to parents and classes to your little ones. These can be about: eye-hand coordination, practical life, art, language, music, movement and  sensory. All are focused to apply the method at home, during the time when the child does not yet goes to school, but the brain already makes important developments.
